In 1982, when we founded the Peruvian Association for conservation of the nature - APECO, the concepts "conservation of the biodiversity" and "sustainable development" were not very well-known, reaching them was a goal of our society. Now these concepts have been spread - although they are still not implemented, they are targets of our time and of the work that APECO is going to realize. In APECO we unite them in order to integrate them in repetitive processes (iterativos), by means of a series of initiatives and hardware for the conservation like: investigation and monitoring of the biodiversity and of the ecological processes; sustainable experiences in handling natural resources; generation and promotion of the capacities of local management; environmental, valid education for the participation of the population in the capture responsible for decisions; and formulation of the politics. In this context APECO it defines his achievements in the following terms:

- Support to the agreements of conservation, politics and laws - Collaboration with the governmental sector - Forming an environmental consciencess. - Development of information and knowledge
